Linda K. Taylor, 80, of Berne, Indiana passed away early Tuesday morning, November 7, 2023, at Swiss Village in Berne surrounded by her family.
She was born on February 2, 1943, in Boggstown, Indiana to the late Elmer F. and Lora J. (Pendleton) Randolph. She was united in marriage to Wilbur Taylor on November 9, 1962, in Hancock County, Indiana.
Linda was a member of the Berne Church of the Nazarene in Berne, Indiana.
She began her career as a Dental Assistant. When Linda and Wilbur began their ministry she was a full time pastor’s wife and filled many roles in the church ministry. Her true love serving as a homemaker and mother was evident in her commitment to her family.
Linda had a great love for reading. She also had a talent for sewing, a hobby that brought her immense joy. Cooking was another of Linda's passions; she enjoyed the satisfaction of feeding her loved ones with her delicious meals. Her green thumb was evident in her beautiful garden, where she had a knack for making things grow. Traveling was another of her passions, she loved exploring new places. Linda was also known for her organizational skills, always ensuring things were in order and running smoothly. A woman of deep faith, Linda was dedicated to her relationship with God and lived her life in a manner that reflected her beliefs.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Wilbur Taylor of Berne, Indiana; son, Bing (Jay) Taylor of Kokomo, Indiana; daughter, Karen (Jim) Timmons of Geneva, Indiana; son, Tim (Stephania) Taylor of Berne, Indiana; daughter, Kathy (Brian) Tubbs of Berne, Indiana; sister, Dorothy Peller of Hinesville, Georgia; brother, Joe (Vickie) Randolph of Cambridge, Illinois; sister, Majorie Everhart of Marion, North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Austin (Andrea) Timmons, Aaron (Shaelyn Whittenbarger) Timmons, Drew (Shelby) Taylor, Holly (Landon) Hummer, Kaitlin Tubbs, and Kandra Tubbs; and nine great-grandchildren, Foster, Cooper, Harper, Grayson, Lanie, Wesley, Amari, Nora, and Hudson.
Linda was preceded in death by a grandson, Spc. Nicholas Taylor; granddaughter, Sophia Taylor; three brothers; and one sister.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Yager-Kirchhofer Chapel in Berne, Indiana with Rev. Matthew Phillips and her nephew, Rev. Daniel Sickels officiating. Burial will follow in M.R.E. Cemetery in Berne, Indiana.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Yager-Kirchhofer Chapel in Berne, Indiana, and one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
In lieu of floral gifts, preferred memorials can be given to the Berne Church of the Nazarene or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
