Linda J. Brames, 73, of Monroeville, Indiana passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
She was born on January 12, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan to Richard and Joyce (Simon) Elworthy. Linda was united in marriage to Patrick Brames on September 30, 1972, at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
She graduated from DeKalb High School in 1969, and was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church.
Linda retired from Target in Fort Wayne after 25 years of service.
Linda loved and cherished her children and grandchildren and put others needs before her own. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was an amazing cook, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Patrick Brames of Monroeville, Indiana; three sons, Matthew Brames of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Chad (Kayla) Brames of Monroeville, Indiana, and Craig Brames of Woodburn, Indiana; two brothers, Daniel Elworthy of New Haven, Indiana and William Elworthy of Seattle, Washington; sister, Mary Jo (Rick) Brainin of Chicago, Illinois; and nine grandchildren, Ryan Brames, Hannah (Joel) Brenneman, Christopher Brames, Taylor Brames, Piper Brames, Morgan, Brames, Cole Brames, Brylie Hayden, and Wyatt Hayden.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 2, 2024, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville, Indiana with Father Dennis DiBenedetto officiating. Burial will follow in St. Rose Catholic Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, in Monroeville.
Preferred memorials can be given to St. Rose Catholic Church or Masses.
