Leo W. Martin

Leo W. Martin, 91, of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away Wednesday evening, July 3, 2024, at Park Place Senior Living in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Leo was born on December 5, 1932 in Allen County, Indiana to Paul E. and Clara C. (Minnick) Martin.  On June 27, 1953, Leo married Donna L. Feasby and she preceded him in death on December 13, 2023.

He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville, where he was active in the Holy Name Society.  He was a former member of the K of C and was an honorary member of the Monroeville Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of the Lions Club and Four Presidents Corner Historical Society, both in Monroeville.

Leo was a lifelong Allen County farmer.  He was also employed with Phelps Dodge for 21 years and the Pinney Ford Garage in Monroeville for 14 years.

Leo and Donna were fixtures in square dancing as they both greatly enjoyed dancing. Leo was a “Mr. Fix It” and could fix anything.

He is survived by two daughters, Patricia J. (Kevin) Ryan of Columbia City, Indiana and Karen I. (Larry) Baumert of Monroeville, Indiana; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Dale E. Martin; brother, Gerald Martin; and four sisters, Geraldine Kline, Marvene Zuber, Joan Bauman, and Maxine Sternberger.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2024, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville with Fr. Dennis DiBenedetto officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Rose Catholic Cemetery.

The Holy Rosary will be recited at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home prior to visitation.

Family and friends will be received from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville and Monday, July 8, 2024, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. also at the FUNERAL HOME.

Preferred memorials are Masses; Monroeville Fire Department; Monroeville EMS; or St. Rose Catholic School.

Arrangements are by Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana.
