Lawrence L. “Larry” Jones, 94, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away Sunday afternoon, November 21, 2021, at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur, Indiana.

He was born on December 8, 1926, in Parker, Indiana to the late Oscar Leroy Jones and the late Sara R. (Jack) Jones. Larry was employed for 27 years at the Automatic Sprinkler in Monroe. In his retirement, Larry enjoyed the time spent driving for Shifferly’s in Decatur.

Larry had a knack for electronics. For many years, he would repair radios and automobile electronics. He was a travel enthusiast. Gerri accompanied him on many trips across the United States and visited many landmarks in the country. His “hobby” of driving was also fulfilled by the time spent with Shifferly’s. He was also an avid sports fan, paying particular attention to Indiana sports and the Indianapolis Colts. Following his retirement, Larry and Gerri moved their residence to North Carolina where they greatly enjoyed the atmosphere, outdoor experiences and natural beauty of the mountains. After being chased out of North Carolina in 1990’s by snow, they decided to return to Decatur.
