Larry D. Myers

Larry D. Myers, 84, of Decatur, Indiana passed away early Monday morning, March 15, 2021, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He was born on May 22, 1936, in Bluecreek Twp. Adams County, Indiana to the late Frank Myers and the late Minnie E. (Foreman) Myers. Larry was united in marriage to Darlene K. Fortney on March 4, 1954, in Berne, Indiana and she preceded him in death on June 7, 2016.

He was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church. He served on the Advisory Board for Bluecreek Township and was the past Bluecreek Township Trustee from 1970-1978.

Larry was employed at Zollner Corporation from 1962 until his retirement. After his retirement he, worked at Johnson’s Auto Sales in Decatur until 2019.

Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by two sons, Jack D. (Connie) Myers of Monroe, Indiana and John M. (Verona) Myers of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Dorothy Brown of  Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister-in-law, Mary Myers of Constantine, Michigan; four grandchildren, Eric (Jessie) Myers, Adam Myers, Andy (Jami) Myers, and Jamie (Kyle) Brodbeck; six great-grandchildren, Max, Carter, Riley & Quinn Myers; Ivory & Leon Brodbeck; two step- grandchildren, Mike (Kelley) Cox & Marc (Sabrina) Cox; five step-great-grandchildren, Makenzie, Caden, Rialey & Evan Cox & Kole Kelley; and one step-great-great-granddaughter, Sawyer Morris.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Faye Miller, Marcile Williamson & a sister in childhood, Doris Myers; and two brothers, Donald Myers & Loren W. Myers.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2021, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor Ernie Suman officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the ACCF- Cancer.
