Kenneth D. Manley, 89, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Ossian Health and Rehabilitation Center in Ossian, Indiana.
He was born on November 15, 1932 in Adams County, Indiana to the late Chauncey O. Manley and Mary M. (Julian) Manley.
Kenny was united in marriage to Marcia L. Walters on September 29, 1956 and she preceded him in death on November 25, 2004.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, where he was stationed in Alaska.
Kenny was a lifetime member of the American Legion.
He was a high school graduate of Pleasant Mills High School. Kenny retired from International Harvester after 30 years of service in the Forge Shop. Following his retirement he enjoyed many years at Manley Meats where he took great pride in the deer barn being the old buck that would outwork the young bucks. Kenny enjoyed fishing and hunting in earlier years, being outdoors and taking care of his property.
He is survived by son, James (Tracey) Manley of Decatur, Indiana; son, Jeffrey Manley of Fort Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Debra (Robert) Blythe of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister, Marcile King of Decatur, Indiana; three grandchildren, Ryan (Chloe) Blythe, Kyle Blythe (Fiancé Duyen Nguyen) and Madison Manley; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Bo Blythe; four step-grandchildren, Neal (Melanie) Blythe and Crista Blythe and Breigh Elder (Kayla Gilhousen) and Alec Elder; four step-great-grandchildren, Dylan Mendez and Lauren, Graham and Mia Blythe.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Manley; a grandson, Jim Hendricks; eight sisters, Edna Manley; Violet Roe; Mable Miller; Esther Cook; Jean Cook; Lois Kaufman; Mildred Wolfe, and Velma Penrod; and three brothers, Richard Manley; Glen Manley; and Lester Manley.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Tricker Cemetery in Monroe at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2022. A Celebration of Life Party for Kenny will be held at a later date.
Friends and family will be received from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, Kenny's family asks that preferred memorials can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
