Judith A. Hindenlang

Judith A. Hindenlang, 84, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023, at her residence.

She was born on February 21, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Kenneth “Duke” and Elizabeth (McMillen) Bollenbacher. Judy was united in marriage to Gene Max Hindenlang on July 9, 1960, at Pleasant Mills United Methodist Church.

She was a member of Pleasant Mills United Methodist Church.

Judy was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her children and grandchildren. She retired from Kroger’s bakery.

Judy loved spending time with people and taking care of them, especially driving the Amish around. She and husband, Gene loved to travel, in fact they have traveled to 33 countries.  She enjoyed shopping… lots of shopping. After a day of shopping, Judy enjoyed eating out.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Hindenlang, of Decatur, Indiana; son, Mark (Brooke) Hindenlang of Decatur, Indiana; son, Tim (Jodi) Hindenlang of Decatur, Indiana; son, Rick (Chloie) Hindenlang of Berne, Indiana; sister, Virginia “Kay” (Robert “Bob”) Jaurigue of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Terry Johnson of Churubusco, Indiana; brother, Greg (Beth) Bollenbacher of Payne, Ohio; 15 grandchildren, Josh Hindenlang, John (Jazmen) Hindenlang, Kayla (Rick) Meyer, Kyle Bertsch, Samantha Hindenlang, Bryce Hindenlang, Chloie Fisher, Dean Hindenlang, Daisy Hindenlang, Rose Hindenlang, Monica Hindenlang, Oliver Hindenlang, Allis Hindenlang, Holland Hindenlang, Case Hindenlang; six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy Hindenlang in 1972, a son, Steven John Hindenlang in 2013; brother-in-law, Don Johnson.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023, Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor Karen Garner officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at Ray Cemetery.

Friends and family will be received from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.

Preferred memorials are to Pleasant Mills United Methodist Church.
