Joyce A. (Combess) Gresley, 71, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Sunday morning, July 25, 2021 at her residence.
She was born February 28, 1950 in Winchester, Ohio to the late Charles Holbrook and the late Marjorie (Simms) Holbrook.
Joyce was married to Donald R. Combess, Sr. on March 4, 1968, and he preceded her in death on January 25, 2003. She later was united in marriage to Neal G. Gresley on August 17, 2007, and he survives.
Joyce was a 1968 graduate of Winchester High School.
As a CNA and RNA, Joyce had a varied work history with several nursing homes. She was an able caregiver to many, including those with disabilities and other special needs.
Joyce loved beautifying the outside of her house with yardwork and decorating the inside of her home with flowers. Along with Neal, she enjoyed traveling, spending time antiquing and visiting Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dogs.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, Neal G. Gresley of Decatur, Indiana; two sons, Donald R. (Kamie Huffman) Combess, Jr. and Douglas W. Combess, both of Fort Wayne, Indiana; a daughter, Dusty R. F. (Jeremy) Stewart of Monroeville, Indiana; three granddaughters, Eevie Reanna Mae Turner, Alaina Huffman, and Samantha Stewart; and one grandson, Sam Huffman.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband.
Private services will be held.
Friends and family will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana.
Preferred memorials can be given to Adams – Heritage Nursing Home or St. John Lutheran Church – Bingen.
