Joseph K. Johnson

Joseph K. Johnson, 68, of Decatur, Indiana passed away early Friday morning, January 13, 2023, at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur.

He was born on December 12, 1954, in Decatur, Indiana to Marvel and Doris (Miller-Adler) Johnson.

Joe graduated from Bellmont High School Class of 1973.  He was a former member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Decatur and a former member of the Eagles Aerie #2653, Moose Lodge #1311, and VFW #6236 all in Decatur.

Joe was previously employed at Decatur Casting as a production worker and was also at Gage Tool & Die, Fleetwood Motor Homes and Dolco Packaging, all in Decatur.

Joe enjoyed baseball, reading old westerns, watching old movies, and hanging out with family and friends.

He is survived by sister, Brenda (Loren) Heckman of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Dennis R. (Denise) Johnson of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Sara (Donald) Carper of Decatur, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews, and great and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas A. Johnson; and sister, Karlene Colclasure.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor Harold Klinker officiating.  Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.

Preferred memorials are to Heart to Heart Hospice or the donor’s choice.
