John M. Widman

John M. Widman, 81, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022 at his residence in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He was born on March 12, 1941, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Martin Widman and the late Ruth (Ebert) Howell.

John was united in marriage to Ida Johnson on February 25, 1961 at Gloria Dai Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He graduated from New Haven High School in 1959. John was a member of UAW Union Local 57, and a lifetime member of the NRA.

John retired from International Harvester in Fort Wayne after 20 years of service. In the later years he worked at Big R department store in Fort Wayne and New Haven.

John loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ida Widman of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two sons, John M Widman Jr. of Edgewater, Ohio and Shawn (Toni) Widman of Decatur, Indiana; and faithful furry grandkids, Maddie & Picalow

John was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2022, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville with Pastor Chuck Koenemann officiating. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in New Haven.

Family and friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. till the 1:00 p.m. service on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville.

Preferred memorials can be given to the Adams County Animal Shelter.
