Joe L. Miller

Joe L. Miller, 74, of Linn Grove, Indiana passed away Sunday morning, March 23, 2025, surrounded by his family at his residence.

He was born on March 19, 1951, in Decatur, Indiana to the late Levi L. and Rosa A. (Schwartz) Miller. Joe was united in marriage to Edna D. Schwartz on April 20, 1972, in Berne, Indiana, and she survives.

Joe was a member of Grace Bible Church in Berne, Indiana.

He was a factory worker for many years and owned Miller’s Maytag for almost 10 years.

Joe enjoyed spending time outdoors; especially, gardening, fishing, and hunting. Most importantly spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Edna D. Miller of Linn Grove, Indiana; daughter, Judy (Delbert) Schwartz of Gentry, Arkansas; son, Larry (Barbara) Miller of Crossville, Alabama; daughter, Linda (Chris) Hay of Linn Grove, Indiana; son, Leon (Erin) Miller of Linn Grove, Indiana; son, Robert (Emma) Miller of Rose, Oklahoma; brother, Emanuel L. Miller of Monroe, Indiana; sister, Martha L. Hilty of Monroe, Indiana; sister, Bertha L. Hilty of Berne, Indiana; sister, Elizabeth L. (Martin) Hilty of Monroe, Indiana; sister, Gertie L. (Mervin) Hilty of Berne, Indiana; sister-in-law, Laura Miller of Berne, Indiana; 23 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by a sister, Mary L. Miller; two brothers, Elmer L. Miller, and Levi L. (Sara) Miller; sister-in-law, Lydiann Miller; and two brothers-in-law, Andy Hilty, and Jerome Hilty.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Grace Bible Church in Berne, Indiana with Brett Rash officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Geneva, Indiana.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Yager-Kirchhofer Chapel in Berne, Indiana.

Preferred memorials can be given to Grace Bible Church.
