Jill M. Evans

Jill M. Evans, 58, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at her residence.

She was born on January 25, 1965, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Eugene Tassler and the late Marian Marie (Gemmill) Tassler-Kendall.  Jill was united in marriage to John Evans on November 1, 1985, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

She worked for the Lutheran Cardiology Department in Decatur for over 10 years. She loved her patients and went out of her way to make people feel loved and cared for.

Jill loved crafts and making cards to send to others and having lunch with many of her friends. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. They were number one in her life, along with many others that always came first in her life.

Jill is survived by her daughter, Jamie (Joshua) Pike of Wilmore, Kentucky; son, Jared Evans of Knoxville, Tennessee; sister, Cheryl (Jeff) Ford-Suffel of Edgerton, Ohio; sister-in-law, Linda Tassler of Versailles, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Alexis Evans, Hudson Pike, Archer Pike, Lennox Pike and Stella Pike; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Tassler.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2023, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana with Life Celebrant Dave McIntire officiating. Burial will follow at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 17, 2023, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
