Jerry Lynn Rambo

Jerry Lynn Rambo, 77, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Thursday morning, June 24, 2021, at his residence.

He was born on August 24, 1943 in Decatur, Indiana to Glenn and Ruby (Ladd) Rambo.   Jerry was united in marriage to Linda L. Roth on June 27, 1970 at Mt Victory United Brethren Church.

He served his country in the United States Army in Korea during the Vietnam War where he was honorably discharged.

He was a member of Mt. Victory United Brethren Church. He also was member of the Moose Lodge # 1311, American Legion Post #43, and Masonic Lodge # 571 all in Decatur.

Jerry was a high school graduate from Decatur High School. He was a production worker for General Electric in Decatur and Fort Wayne in the small motor department. Jerry also operated a business known as Past Time Amusements for several years. He specialized in repairing pinball machines and other type of electric entertainment.

Jerry was quite the fisherman. He found peace in fishing on the water and enjoyed nature while hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Rambo of Decatur, Indiana; son, Jerry Matthew (Laura) Rambo of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two daughters, Denise (Craig Steinsberger) Rambo of Bloomington, Indiana and Jennifer Rambo of New Haven, Indiana; brother, Phil (Eva Mae) Rambo of Bloomington, Indiana; sister, Janet (Tom) Lough of Decatur, Indiana; five grandchildren, Justin and Ashley Hamrick, Kaylee, Matthew and Logan Rambo; and two step-grandchildren, Chance and Bethany Gephart.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Doug, Tom, and Richard Rambo.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor Jon Crider officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #43 Color Guard.  Burial will take place at Decatur Cemetery.

Friends and family will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to Mt. Victory United Brethren in Christ.

Arrangements are by Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana.
