Jean M. Neuenschwander, 94, of Berne, Indiana passed away Sunday evening, February 24, 2019 at Swiss Village.
She was born on January 18, 1925 in Berne, Indiana to the late Edwin Nussbaum and late Ora (Baumgartner) Nussbaum. Jean was united in marriage to Vernon R. Neuenschwander on June 23, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Jean was a faithful member of First Mennonite Church in Berne.
She was a homemaker and helped on their family farm. She also worked in dietary at Swiss Village for 10 years.
Jean is survived by her two daughters, Sharron (Rick) Neunschwander of Berne, and Janet (Kevin) Keighin of Normal, Illinois; four grandchildren, Eric (Dana) Neuenschwander, Jenna (Jason) Moore, Andrew (Racheal) Keighin, and Melissa (Luke) Hoesly; and five great-grandchildren, Riley and Aiden Neuenschwander, Katelyn and Isaac Moore, and Olivia Keighin.
She is preceded in death by her husband; grandson, Joel Keighin; and two brothers, Kenyon Nussbaum and Howard Nussbaum.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2019 at the Swiss Village Chapel with Pastor Jim Schwartz officiating. Burial will be at M.R.E. Cemetery.
Family and Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Swiss Village Chapel.
Preferred memorials are to Gideon’s International or First Mennonite Church.
