Janice S. Lehrman, 90, of Monroeville, Indiana went peacefully to her heavenly home on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at Adams – Heritage in Monroeville.
She was born on July 24, 1929 to the late Carlus Miller and late Lula E. (Adams) Miller. She was united in marriage to Donald H. Lehrman on January 14, 1951 in Monroeville United Methodist Church and they enjoyed 66 years together. Donald preceded her in death on May 14, 2017.
Janice was a member of East Liberty United Methodist Church where she played piano, organ, lead many children/VBS programs, and was church Historian.
She was a 1947 graduate of Hoagland High School and graduated as a R.N. from Methodist Hospital in 1950. She was a school nurse with East Allen County Schools (Primarily Hoagland and Heritage) and retired in 1991 with 25 years of service.
Janice was an avid seamstress and quilter, loved life, music, and working with children .
She is survived by her son, Dean (Janice) Lehrman of Hoagland, Indiana; son, Lynn (Jeanne) Lehrman of Spencerville, Indiana; daughter, Susan (Glenn) Watts of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Joni (Dale) Zeigler of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister, Karen Bowman of Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren, Max (Sarah) Lehrman; Camryn (Jeremy) Klocinski; Wayne (Codi) Lehrman; Derek (Amy) Lehrman; Greg (Katie) Watts; Jesse (Carly) Zeigler; Sarah (Kurt) Plummer; Connie (Brian) Phillips; Karen (Kyle) Milholland; Jacob Zeigler; Julie (Brad) Engle; Ryne (Makenna) Lehrman; and Joseph Zeigler; and 20 great-grandchildren, Olivia & Marissa Lehrman; Grace, Brantlee & Colton Lehrman; Nora & Benjamin Zeigler; Katelyn, Brookelyn & Shaelyn Plummer; Quinn Lehrman; Leona, Sadie & Sylvie Phillips; Hallie & Conner Milholland; Brinley & Jackson Engle; Lincoln Watts; and Brecken Lehrman.
Janice was preceded in death by two sisters, Regina Miller (in infancy) and Norma Guenin; and brother, Robert Miller.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at East Liberty United Methodist Church in Monroeville with Pastor Harold Jones and Pastor Ralph Klinker officiating. Burial will follow in Monroeville Memorial Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received from 2-5 & 6-8 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019, in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, in Monroeville and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Preferred memorials are to be made to East Liberty United Methodist Church.
