Janice L. Bradtmueller, 81, of New Haven, Ind. Passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Janice was born June 6, 1940 in New Haven to the late Arthur F. Busse and the late Velma (Peters) Busse.
She was united in marriage to Otto Bradtmueller Jr. on February 14, 1959 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana and he survives
Janice was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, where she was a chairman of the Ladies Aid, involved with funeral dinners for many years, and active in quilting.
She graduated from Woodburn High School in 1958. Janice was a bus driver for Fort Wayne Lutheran Schools for 20 years. In her spare time she also was a part-time Avon Consultant.
Janice enjoyed cooking, quilting, sewing for Missions, and spoiling her grandchildren.One of her most cherished accomplishments though was being a foster parent, with Otto, to over 72 children. She was active in Allen County 4-H for 20+ years, being associated with the Miami Maidens and Chiefs. She was also an accomplished cake decorator, and enjoyed this skill until she was no longer physically able to continue.
Janice is lovingly survived by her husband, Otto Bradtmueller Jr. of New Haven, IN; three daughters, Christie (Richard) Biddlecome of Coker, AL, Carla (Jeff) Fritz of Fort Wayne, IN, and Vicki (Andy) Fitzgerald of New Haven, IN; two sons, Mark (Jennifer) Bradtmueller of New Haven, IN and Brian Bradtmueller of New Haven, IN; foster daughter, Dora Boyd of Fort Wayne, IN; brother, Carl (Ruth) Busse of Humboldt, TN; sister, Marilyn (Gilbert) Bradtmueller of Fort Wayne, IN; two step-sisters; two step-brothers; 17 grandchildren; two foster grandchildren; 9.5 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Catarina Fritz.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022 at St. Peter Lutheran’s Church, Ft. Wayne with Pastor Steve Ahlersmeyer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Fort Wayne. The service will be live-streamed, please follow this link to watch the service https://www.youtube.com/StPetersfw.
A visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2022 at the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Ft. Wayne, 7710 E. State Blvd., Ft. Wayne and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church also.
Preferred memorials are to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne or Lutheran Social Services
