James Frederick Stauffer, 66, of Columbus, Ohio went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, July 31, 2020, at his residence.
He was born May 29, 1954, to Frederick and Claudette (Nagel) Stauffer of Berne, Indiana.
Jim graduated from South Adams High School in 1972, and attended Goshen College. He worked 43 years as Sales and Purchasing Manager at Panel Center, Inc. of Columbus, Ohio which was started by his uncle, Chuck Nagel.
Jim enjoyed fishing, bird watching, going to hockey games, working with his hands, and spending time with friends and family. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his cooking skills, helping others, and the special way he interacted with his nephews and played with their children.
Surviving are Jim’s parents, Fred and Claudette Stauffer of Berne, Indiana; brother, Bob (Judy) Stauffer of Harlan, Indiana; sister, Diane Stauffer of West Palm Beach, Florida; and brother, Mike (Erin) Stauffer of Indianapolis, Indiana; two nephews, Nate (Becca) Stauffer of Harlan, Indiana and their children, Kade and Lila; and Ryan (Katie) Stauffer of Fort Wayne, Indiana and their children, Brandon, Kayla and Jacob.
Funeral services for Jim will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2020, at the First Mennonite Church in Berne, Indiana with Pastor Jeff Linthicum and Pastor Jim Schwartz officiating.
Due to public concerns of safety, there will be private viewing only until 2:30 p.m. We also request family and visitors practice social distancing and the wearing of masks. For those who prefer or who are in a high risk category, we ask that you “like” the Facebook page of Zwick & Jahn or go to firstmennonite.org., where the service will be livestreamed.
Memorials may be made to the Swiss Village Samaritan Fund or Mennonite Disaster Service.
