James Allen “Jim” Stephenson, 75, of Monroeville, Indiana passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at his residence.
He was born on April 18, 1949, in Decatur, Indiana to the late Keith Stephenson and the late Phyllis (Hook) Stephenson.
Jim was employed by the Ft. Wayne Foundry where he was involved with production.
Being outside with nature provided Jim with satisfaction in his life. Among the activities he enjoyed throughout his life were hunting and fishing, but if there was something to be done outside, you could be assured Jim would be there. He was also known for his talent of telling “long tall stories” which never seemed to end.
Survivors include his daughter, Candy Trabel (Rod Rhymer) of Monroeville, Indiana; three grandchildren, Cursty J. Drake, Curstin J. Stephenson, and Cajoel J.A. Trabel; one great-grandchildren, William Creps; four brothers, John Stephenson of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Terry (Edie) Stephenson, Clarence “Hider” (Michelle Hill) Stephenson, and Darrell (Tina) Stephenson all of Monroeville, Indiana; three sisters, Arlene (Lloyd) Leininger of Monroeville, Indiana, Bobbi (Wayne) Meyer of Monroeville, Indiana, and Karen Colwell of Columbia City, Indiana.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by two great grandchildren, Cooper and Caren; and a sister, Darla Rhymer.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home – Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville with Pastor Ralph Klinker officiating. Burial will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2024, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home – Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials can be given to the family and checks payable to Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home.
