Pastor Illis A. Perez, 66, of Decatur, Indiana took her last breath at 5:40 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2022, at her home surrounded by loved ones after fighting the battle against pancreatic cancer.
Illis has fought the good fight, finished the race, and remained faithful. And now the prize/the crown of righteousness await her. There will be no more pain and no more sorrows.
She was united in marriage to Jacob E. Perez.
Illis was Pastoring the Hispanic congregation at First Assembly of God in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was ordained through the Assembly of God and led a Hispanic congregation with love and compassion. She was the mentor/teacher for the Hispanic community wishing to obtain their credentials through the Assembly of God. She has worked in church ministry since the age of five, filling in where there was a need/position in the church. Her life was centered on the one who called her to live with purpose. She was passionate about reading and teaching the Bible. She had a Master's in Theology and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Education, and Human Resources.
Illis laid a firm foundation for her family to walk a life lived for Christ. She held the unique titles of wife, mother, and Nina. She took those roles seriously and led her family by example with loyalty, compassion, forgiveness, and unconditional love. She was full of life, a prayer warrior, always involved in the work of the Lord, and never met a stranger. Illis always chose joy.
