Ileen Ruth Bultemeier, 90, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Monday, July 25, 2022, at Adams Woodcrest Nursing Home in Decatur, Indiana.
She was born on February 8, 1932 in Woodburn, Indiana to the late Elwin and Clara (Binger) Lampe.
Ileen was united in marriage to Norvin “Snorty” Bultemeier on October 18, 1953 at Christ Lutheran Church in Woodburn, Indiana. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2014.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen in Decatur. Ileen was active in the Altar Guild, church choir, and helped provide funeral dinners for many years at the church.
She was a high school graduate from Woodburn High School in 1951. Ileen and Snorty owned and operated Die Deutsche Ecke Cheese House from 1974-1998.
Ileen is survived by a daughter, Ann Souder of Decatur, Indiana; son, Roger (Dr. Carla Grote) Bultemeier of Monroeville, Indiana; brother, Verlin “Zeke” Lampe of Woodburn, Indiana; five grandchildren, Christopher Souder, Victor (Stephanie), Benjamin (Courtney), Andrew and Malinda Bultemeier and two step-grandchildren Anya and Alexis Copeland.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ileen was preceded in death by two sisters, Lorraine Buuck and Donna Hetrick and a brother, Ron Lampe.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022, at St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen with Pastor Peter Brock officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery, Bingen.
Friends and family will be received from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on July 29, 2022, at St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
Preferred memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen or Worship Anew.
Arrangements are by Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana.
