Harold F. Bleeke, 80, of Monroeville, Indiana passed away on July 28, 2021, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
He was born on April 5, 1941, in Decatur, Indiana, the son of the late Erich H. Bleeke and the late Flora L. (Franke) Bleeke.
Harold proudly served his country in the U.S. Army being honorably discharged.
He graduated from Hoagland High School Class of 1959, and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock.
Harold worked at International harvester for 22 years and Decatur Wire Die for 12 years. He was also employed at East Allen County Schools from 1995 until retirement in 2016. He faithfully operated the family farm for most of his life.
Harold enjoyed many things; woodworking, tinkering around on tractors, camping, traveling on various bus tours all around the country, The Indianapolis Motor Speedway, The Indy 500 and the Brickyard 400. He was passionate and active in the Friends of the Wyneken House Restoration project.
Survivors include son; Erich P. Bleeke of Monroeville, IN; one daughter, Lisa (Bill) Tucker of Ft. Wayne, IN; son, David M. (Michelle) Bleeke of Decatur, IN; and son, Kevin H. Bleeke of Bradenton, FL; one brother, Robert (Cherie) Bleeke of Racine, WI; and two granddaughters, Kristen and Ashley Tucker
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Erhard & Lorenz Bleeke; and one sister, Hildagard Bolkleman
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday August 3, 2021 at St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock with Pastor Douglas Christian officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Flatrock. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #420 of Monroeville.
Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Monday August 2, 2021, at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church.
