Grace O. Sprunger Eloranta, 93, Fort Wayne, former Berne resident passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Swiss Village, Berne. Born in Berne, Indiana on April 17, 1924, Grace was the daughter of Harry and Frieda (Neuhauser)Sprunger. After moving to Fort Wayne, she worked at Lincoln Bank where she met her husband, Walter G. Eloranta. They were married for 62 years and raised three children. Grace devoted her life to serving God and her family which she did with excellence. Grace and her husband faithly attended the Shoaff Park Baptist Church. She was a wonderful cook, seamstress, and more. Whatever she laid her hand to prospered. Grace was a co-owner of the Cotton Patch in Bluffton and she also volunteered at International House, teaching women to knit and crochet.
Survivors are three daughters; Sandra Sillampa of Colby, WI., Nancy(Robert)Rhee of Fort Wayne, and Barbara(Ted)Dynes of Decatur; nine grandchildren,; Josie Miller, David Sillampa, Timothy Sillampa and Kelly Sillampa; Elizabeth Rubio and Suzanne Rhee; Seth Dynes, Olivia Dynes, and Joshua Dynes; and two great-grandchildren, Vivian Sillampa and Daniel Miller. Also surviving are two sisters; Rosanna Kohli and Beverly(Dwight)Neuenschwander.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Florieda Baysinger and her brother, Meredith Sprunger.
Funeral services are Saturday, February 17, 2018, 11:00 am at the Swiss Village Chapel with visitation one hour prior. Officiating is Pastor Ken Jackson. Burial is in the MRE Cemetery, Berne.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Swiss Village Samaritan Fund &/or Shoaff Park Baptist Church, Ft. Wayne
