Gloria A. Lothamer , 89, of New Haven, Indiana passed away early Monday morning July 5, 2021, at Adams Heritage in Monroeville, Indiana.
She was born on May 17, 1932, in New Haven, Indiana to the late Emmet Love and the late Emma (Stute) Love
Gloria was united in marriage to Herman J. Lothamer on June 18, 1949, at St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on September 15, 2009.
Gloria graduated from New Haven High School in 1950. She was a member of St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church for 72 years, Navy Club #245 the VFW Post #12150 both in New Haven, and American Legion Post # 420 in Monroeville.
Gloria faithfully served her family as a homemaker. She was a strong believer in supporting her family.
She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, cooking, baking and playing Bingo. In her recent years she enjoyed sharing her gift of cooking and baking with her neighbors.
Survivors include son, Michael (Susan) Lothamer of Woodburn, Indiana; daughter, Linda (Richard) Burkett of New Haven, Indiana; daughter Susan (David) Shaffer of Monroeville, Indiana; son, James Lothamer of Fort Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Janet Spindler of New Haven, Indiana; daughter, Joanne (Roland) Yoder of Hudson, Indiana; daughter, Beth (Mark) Kern of Harlan, Indiana; brother, Jerry (Barbara) Love Sr. of Monroeville, Indiana;19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons; Kevin Wayne Lothamer in 1963 and Timothy Lothamer Sr. in 2015; six brothers, Walter, Robert, Grover, Roger, Richard, and Emmet Love Jr.; and four sisters, Helen Kees, Wilma Hyser, Annabelle Martin-Wells, and Patricia Castle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2021, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Besancon with Father Louis Fowoyo officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Besancon. For those unable to attend, you can watch her service on the Zwick & Jahn Facebook page.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 2021, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.
A Holy Rosary Service will be recited at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2021, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel Monroeville.
Preferred memorials can be made to Masses, Multiple Sclerosis Society, or Heartland Hospice.
