Gary L. Patrick Sr., 72, of Monroeville, Indiana passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 16, 2024, at his residence.
He was born on December 26, 1951 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Gary was united in marriage to Alice K. McCormick on November 10, 2001, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He graduated from Central High School and was employed at Center Management for 20 years as a Maintenance Supervisor before his retirement in 2013.
Gary was fascinated with woodworking and was an accomplished woodworker. He was also a talented artist, which served him well as he designed and manufactured many unique wooden creations. In his spare time Gary found some frustration and great satisfaction in playing golf. He was part of a family of golfers and he would weekly play with his brothers and son…it became a family tradition. Playing cards was also an activity that Gary enjoyed, especially poker. A favorite past time that Gary and Alice appreciated was the ability to ride their motorcycles whenever possible, making stops along with way at several watering holes.
Gary is survived by his wife, Alice Patrick of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Melinda Patrick of Alabama; two sons, Gary (Tammy) Patrick, Jr. of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Justin Patrick of Monroeville, Indiana; two sisters, Patsy (Jay) McCormick of Albion, Indiana and Debbie (Jerry) McCormick of Kendallville, Indiana; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a great-grandchild on the way; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Allen County Fair Grounds located at 2726 Carrol Road in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Preferred memorials are to the family and can be made payable to Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, 520 N. 2nd Street, Decatur, IN 46733.
Arrangements are by the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana.
