Gary L. Bowen

Gary L. Bowen, 50, of Hoagland, Indiana passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.  His death was unexpected and was not COVID related, and resulted from a chronic illness.

He was born on May 4, 1970, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Ross Alan Bowen who preceded him in death on May 1, 2017 and Sally (Hahn) Bowen.

Gary graduated in 1989 from Heritage High School and received his Bachelor's Degree in Business from I.T.T..

He previously worked at Johnson Control as a supervisor and was certified Six Sigma Black Belt. He was a co-owner of the Maples Inn and the owner and operator of Patriot Carpet Cleaning.

Over the years he enjoyed deer hunting, riding his Harley and spending time at Crooked Lake.

Survivors include his mother, Sally Bowen of Monroeville, Indiana; two brothers, Mark Bowen of Monroeville, Indiana and Eric (Michelle) Bowen of Decatur, Indiana; nephew, Nathan Bowen; three nieces, Kecia Foote, Megan Kaehr and Paige BonVillian; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

A private family service will be held Monday for Gary at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville with Pastor Harold Klinker officiating. A recording of the service will be made available on the Zwick & Jahn Facebook page beginning Monday afternoon.

Friends and family will be received from Noon – 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville. Masks are required.

Preferred memorials are to St. Mark's Lutheran Church Food Bank or Hoagland E.M.S.
