Franklin Fuelling, 87, of New Haven, Indiana passed away Sunday morning, April 4, 2021, at Parkview Hospital Randallia in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He was born September 23, 1933 in Decatur, Indiana to the late Paul Fuelling and the late Marie K. (Goeglein) Fuelling. Frank was united in marriage to Carrol L. Heine on October 29, 1960 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on August 20, 2009.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War Era and was honorably discharged at the rank of Private First Class following his term of service.
Frank was a 1951 graduate of Monmouth High School. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne since February 12, 1961. He was a member of Woodburn American Legion Post #377 and the Allen County Coon Hunters Club. He also enjoyed beekeeping, providing quality honey, and was a member of national, state, and local beekeeping organizations.
He was a pipefitter for Rea Magnet Wire, where he worked for more than 37 years.
Frank enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. In his “spare time,” he managed to not only manage his beekeeping duties, but also had time to actively raise horses and dogs.
Survivors include two sons Mark (Shelly) Fuelling of Woodburn, Indiana, and Michael (Tabitha) Fuelling of Arlington, Virginia; three grandchildren, Serena (Cody) Hegerfeld, Justin Fuelling, Addison Fuelling; one great-grandson, Paxton Hegerfeld; sister Louann Wolfe of Decatur, Indiana; brother Donald (Marian) Fuelling of Edina, Minnesota; and two sisters-in-law, Shirley Fuelling of Springfield, Virginia and Pam Fuelling of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clinton, Max and George Fuelling; one sister in infancy, Kathryn Fuelling; brother-in-law, Jesse Wolfe; and a sister-in-law Marge Fuelling.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2021 at St. Peter’s Lutheran 7710 E. State Street, Ft. Wayne, Indiana with Pastor Steve Ahlersmeyer officiating. The funeral service will be live streamed through St. Peter’s Lutheran Church's YouTube page and can be accessed by the link provided http://www.youtube.com/StPetersFW/.
Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Military graveside services will be conducted by the American Legion Post #43 Color Guard.
Friends and family will be received from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 2021 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday at the church.
Preferred memorials are to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne and Worship Anew.
