Esther M. Eguia , 67, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on February 2, 2019 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice in Fort Wayne.
She was born on October 25, 1951 in Adrian, Michigan the daughter of the late Adan Eguia and the late Andrea (Belmarez) Eguia.
Esther attended the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur and had attended the St. Joseph Catholic School when she was younger. She was a member of the Moose Lodge #1311, and the VFW auxiliary. Esther proudly served the Sociedad Guadalupana Church.
Survivors include her son, Daniel (Michelle) Ybarra; three daughters, Danae Ybarra, Devra (Ray) Garcia, and Tracee (Rico) Serrano-Tapia; eight siblings; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Devin Ybarra; grandmother, Antonia Cruz-Garza; grandfather, Guadalupe Garza; and her brother, Louis Eguia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Decatur with Father Dave Ruppert officiating . Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Decatur.
A Holy Rosary service will be held at 5:15 p.m. February 6, 2019 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2019 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home- Decatur and one hour prior to services Thursday in the church.
Preferred memorials are to the Sociedad Guadalupana.
