Ervin L. Ross

Ervin L. Ross, 87, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at his residence unexpectedly on March 13, 2020.

He was born on June 20, 1932 in Wren, Ohio the son of the late Clark E. Ross and the late Mable (Shook) Ross. He was united in marriage to Barbara Irwin on August 27, 1950 at the Church of God in Decatur. They were married for 69 years before Ervin’s passing.

He was over a 50 year member of the Moose Lodge #1311 in Decatur.

Ervin was employed at the Dana Corporation for over 43 years.

Ervin loved to fish, and go to the Casinos with his wife and friends. He was an avid Indiana Hoosier Fan

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Barbara Ross of Decatur, Indiana; son, Stephen Ross of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Bill (Jean) Ross of Decatur, Indiana; two grandchildren, Sara (Brent Guerra) Ross of Decatur, Indiana and Jon (Anna VerPlanck) Ross of Fort Wayne, Indiana; one great-grandson, Brady Ross of Decatur, Indiana; two sister-in-law’s, Dolly Ross and Joyce Ross both of Decatur, Indiana; Barbara’s family, sisters, Daisy (Kermit) Garner, Margie (Gary) Ross, Jane (Paul) Lengerich, Jackie Haviland, and Kathryn McGill all of Decatur, Indiana; and brother, Stephen (Jane) Irwin of Decatur, Indiana

Ervin was preceded in death by seven brothers, Richard, Roland, Eugene, Max, Leo, Lester and Gerald Ross; and three sisters, Helen Lister Call, Margaret Thomas, and Patricia Hueston.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Rev. Ernie Suman officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 4-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2020 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur and one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Preferred memorials can be given to ACCF- Cancer fund.
