Ernest E. Sprunger, 90, Berne passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Swiss Village where he was a resident. He was born on January 15, 1927 in Adams County to Sylvan and Mary Lehman Sprunger. He married Eileen Sprunger on September 10, 1950.
Ernest was a faithful member of the First Mennonite Church. He farmed for many years and was a member of the Tri-State Tractor Association. He enjoyed woodworking, was a faithful Bible reader, and in his retirement years provided transportation for the Amish community. He loved his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include: Dale(Susie)Sprunger of Berne, Tom Sprunger of Portland, Wendy(Todd)Striker of Linn Grove, Rebecca(Steve)Billington of Bryant, Mark Sprunger of Berne, 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Preceding in death are his parents, wife, brother Jerry Sprunger, sisters, Josephine Myers, and Shirley Fruchte.
Funeral services are Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 10:00 am at the First Mennonite Church with visitation 1 hour prior to the services. Visitation also Friday, January 5, from 3 to 7:30 pm at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home. Officiating is pastor A. James Schwartz with burial at the MRE Cemetery, Berne.
