Eleanor M. Morris

Eleanor M. Morris, 81, of Geneva, Indiana passed away Tuesday evening, December 20, 2022, at Swiss Village in Berne, Indiana.

She was born on November 15, 1941, in Decatur, Indiana to the late Robert LaDoyt Miller and the late Faye Virginia (Myers) Miller. Eleanor was united in marriage to William L. “Bill” Morris in 1967 and he preceded her in death on December 1, 2013.

She served as the Executive Director for the Adams County Community Foundation and a member and officer on the Adams Public Library Board of Trustees. Prior to that position she was an Elementary School Music teacher for both Adams Central and South Adams Schools. Additionally, she worked for the Fourth District Congresswoman Jill Long.

Eleanor was an extremely talented musician playing both the piano and the organ where she served as a Church organist for Geneva First United Methodist Church and Trinity United Methodist Church of Berne, IN. Additionally, she enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Katria) Morris of Toledo, Ohio; son, Robert (Jeff Gross) Morris of Apex, North Carolina; and sister, Janet (Larry) Macklin of Decatur, Indiana.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Swiss Village in Berne, Indiana with Pastor Herb Buwalda officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in New Liberty Cemetery in Lynn, Indiana.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service on Saturday, January 14, 2023.

Preferred memorials can be given to the Adams County Community Foundation in memory of the William Morris Memorial Scholarship Fund.
