Elaine Ann Whetstone

Elaine Ann Whetstone, 70, of Berne, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at AMG Specialty Hospital in Muncie, Indiana, following a brief illness. She was born on August 11, 1954, in Winchester, Indiana, to the late Harriett Lucille (Purvis) Morris. 

A devoted member of Faith Baptist Church in Berne, Elaine accepted Christ as her Savior on June 28, 1970, at Grace Baptist Church in Anderson, Indiana. The Book of Psalms provided her with much comfort throughout her life, with some of her favorite verses including Psalm 119:165, Psalm 23, and Psalm 18. 

Ann graduated from Frankton High School and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Hyles-Anderson College. She dedicated her career to teaching in various Christian schools, spending 30 years as a teacher at Faith Christian Academy in Berne. Additionally, she worked part-time in dietary services at Chalet Village, at McDonald’s on weekends during the summer, and spent 3.5 years in the X-Ray Department at Tipton Hospital.

Ann enjoyed crocheting, walking, and reading, with a particular love for reading her Bible, which inspired her deeply. She also enjoyed uplifting and encouraging literature. Known for her servant's heart, Ann found great joy in encouraging others. 

Ann is survived by her sister-in-law, Joann Whetstone, and her nephew, Jamie Whetstone. 

Funeral services for Ann will be held on Monday, December 23, 2024, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, located at 989 W. 700 S., Berne, Indiana, with Pastor Ryan Marsh officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Fairview Cemetery in Tipton, Indiana. 

Friends are invited to share memories of Ann at the church beginning at 4:00 p.m. until the start of the service on Monday. 

In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials may be given to Faith Baptist Church. 

Note to Florists: The church will be open for flower deliveries after 2:00 p.m.
