Edward D. Burns, 65, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Monday, June 6, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He was born on September 4, 1956 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to the late Wayne and Shirley (Bradford) Burns. Edward was united in marriage to Catherine Hughes on June 20, 2011
He graduated from Akron Fair Grove High School in 1975 and then obtained a Bachelors and an MBA in Sociology from Indiana University. Ed was an avid bowler was a member of the Adams County Bowling Association where he served as president for two years and was a board member for six years. He was also a part of the Berne League in Berne for 15 years where he sponsored the Monday Night Merchants. Ed also coached the high school girls bowling team for several years.
Ed worked at IPFW as a Sociology teacher for many years. He was the owner/operator of Edje Video in Bluffton and Decatur for 17 years.
Ed is survived by his wife, Cathy Burns of Decatur, Indiana; five sons, Jason (Leslie) Burns of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ken Burns of Decatur, Indiana, Chad Hackman of Kendallville, Indiana, Tony Hackman of New Haven, Indiana, and Kevin (Bri) Hackman of Delphos, Ohio; two brothers, Bill (Carol) Burns of Kingston, Michigan, and Dana (Jennifer) Burns of Portland, Indiana; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Burns and a sister, Debra Burns.
A Celebration of Life service will take place at a later date.
Preferred memorials are to the Adams County Bowling Association.
