Edon L. Ladig, 33, of Decatur, Indiana passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2020, at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana following a battle with cancer since March 2019.
She was born on October 12, 1986, in Fort Wayne, Indiana the daughter of the late David A. Boerger and Rita C. (Weber) Boerger. She married Nick Ladig on April 12, 2008, at the Bridge Community Church in Decatur, Indiana.
Edon was a member of the Bridge Community Church in Decatur, Indiana. She was a 2005 graduate of Bellmont High School and continued her education at the International Business College obtaining her Associates Degree.
She worked as the Plant Analyst at Bunge in Decatur.
Edon lived for her kids…and did anything for them. Her hobbies, which included scrapbooking and reading, often took a backseat to the needs of her children. She was a very generous and selfless person who put the needs of others ahead of her own. She was always a very positive person, clinging to her faith, always looking to God when facing any difficult adversity in her life. She was the matriarch of the family, who was a hero to her nephews, whom she and Nick were in the process of becoming guardians and Nick will continue.
Survivors include her husband, Nick Ladig of Decatur, Indiana; five sons, Christian Ladig, Camden Ladig, Corbin Ladig, Jaxson Ladig, and Colton Ladig all at home; daughter, Brooklyn Ladig also at home; mother, Rita Boerger of Fort Wayne, Indiana; brother, Joseph (Autumn) Boerger of Fort Wayne, Indiana; paternal grandmother, LaVerne Boerger of Decatur, Indiana; Nick’s family; parents, Denny & Kim Ladig of Decatur, Indiana; maternal grandparents, Jim & Bonnie Lehman of Geneva, Indiana; paternal grandmother, Geraldine Ladig of Bluffton, Indiana; brothers, John Ladig, Jordan (Taylor) Ladig and Spencer Ladig; and nieces and nephews, Kairi Bostic, Logan, Hannah, and Emmett Ladig.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Robert and Marie Weber; paternal grandfather, Herbert Boerger; and Nick’s paternal grandfather, Dennis Ladig.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 16, 2020, at the Bridge Community Church in Decatur with Pastor Dave Fox officiating.
Family and friends will be received from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at the Bridge Community Church in Decatur and also an hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Preferred memorials can be made to ACCF – Cancer Fund, LLS (Leukemia Lymphoma Society), or the children’s education fund (Checks Payable to Nick Ladig).
