Earl Rhymer, 80, of Convoy, Ohio passed away early Sunday morning, July 17, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He was born on March 6, 1942, in Pineville, Kentucky to the late Chester Rhymer and the late Carrie (Messer) Rhymer.
Earl was united in marriage to Adeline Daugherty in 1967.
He graduated from Monroeville High School. Earl was a member of East Liberty United Methodist Church in Monroeville.
Earl owned and operated Earl’s Marathon in Monroeville from 1968 until 1985. Following his retirement, he continued his passion of working on cars.
Earl loved fishing and to garden.
Survivors include his three sons, Rodney (Candy Trabel) Rhymer, Rick Rhymer, and Bruce (Darla) Rhymer all of Monroeville, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Adam Stephenson, Crystal Spaulding, Brandon Rhymer, Olivia Shane, Riva Rhymer, Sylvia Rhymer and Austin Krauss; and several great-grandchildren.
Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Adeline Rhymer; daughter, Tina Rhymer in 2014; sisters, Virgie Roy, Judy Rhymer, and Maxine Mohr; and a brother, Delbert Rhymer.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2022, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville with Pastor Ralph Klinker officiating. Burial will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received from 3-8 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2022, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials can be given to SPCA or Stillwater Hospice.
