Dora Mae Tieman, 92, of Wellston, Michigan and former longtime resident of Decatur, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019, at Vista Springs Northview in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
She was born on March 30, 1927 in Adams County, Indiana to the late Ben W. McCullough and the late V. Loretta (Tinkham) McCullough. She married C. Ralph Tieman on September 14, 1947 at St. Peter Lutheran Parsonage and he preceded her in death on July 31, 2006.
Dora was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Fuelling where she had been involved with the Ladies Aid. She had also previously been active with the Sons of the American Legion Post #43 Auxiliary, Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Wellston, Michigan and the Wellston Michigan Senior Center, where she loved to play bingo.
Dora graduated in 1945 from Pleasant Mills High School and retired in January of 1988 from Decatur Industries with 20 years of service.
She was is survived by her son, Michael E. (Linda) Tieman of Elizabeth, Colorado; son, William A. Tieman of Wellston, Michigan; daughter, Sarah Miller of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother, Edward A. McCullough of Decatur, Indiana; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Dora was preceded in death by a daughter, Katherine Blain and a brother, Charles N. McCullough.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2019, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Rev. Leonard Tanksley officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Fuelling.
Family and friends will be received from 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2019, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home – Decatur.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Manistee Michigan County Council on Aging through the funeral home.
