Donnie G. Salmons, 80, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Tuesday morning, September 21, 2021, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 23, 1941 in Malden, West Virginia to Elias Salmons and Edna (Scaggs) Williamson.
Donnie was a retired truck driver.
He enjoyed hunting, camping and traveling.
He is survived by three sons, Elias (Teresa) Salmons of Monroe, Indiana, Donnie A. (Kristine) Salmons of Decatur, Indiana, and Linzie Salmons of Alaska; four daughters, Molly (Lila Ferguson) Williams of Decatur, Indiana, Donna (James) Williams of Breeden, West Virginia, Deborah (Dave Frank) Strickler of Decatur, Indiana, and Nina Salmons of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister, Patricia (Rick) Caffee of Birmingham, Alabama; 27 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Salmons, Jr.; two grandsons, Bryson Alley and Dimitri Swingley; three brothers, Edgar Allen, Everett, and Vernie Salmons; and three sisters, Betty Marcum, Sharon Robinson, and Carolyn Robinette.
Private family graveside services will be held at Beery Cemetery in Decatur.
Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice.
