Donna Ruth Nidlinger, 94, of Berne, Indiana passed away early Sunday morning, August 8, 2021, at Swiss Village.
She was born September 7, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan to Charles H. Branch, Jr. and Floretta Adelia (Lathrop) Branch. On April 8, 1944, Donna was united in marriage to Gale Harvey Nidlinger and he preceded her in death on October 11, 2018.
Donna was longtime active member of the Gospel Temple in Fort Wayne where she taught children’s Sunday school class for over 30 years and was active in the Women’s Ministry. Later, she attended First Missionary Church in Fort Wayne & Decatur Church of God. She was also a member of ONO Home Economics Club and active in the GE Quarter Century Club and 4-H Club.
She was a beautician from 1945-1950 and later worked at General Electric in Decatur from 1955-1986.
She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, crocheting, and collecting dolls.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann (Dave) Lister of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sister, Marjorie VonGunten of Berne, Indiana; three grandchildren, Michelle Lister, Matthew Lister, & Janelle (Derry) Prenkert; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Kiser and two brothers-in-law, Richard Kiser & Edward VonGunten.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor Mike Wertenberger officiating. Burial will follow at Decatur Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to the Decatur Church of God.
