Donald Wayne Brown

Donald Wayne Brown, 78, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Saturday morning, November 4, 2023, at Adams Woodcrest in Decatur.

He was born on August 4, 1945, in Decatur, Indiana to the late David E. and Geneva G. (Bennett) Brown. Don was united in marriage to Kathleen Rafert on May 23, 1964.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur.

Don graduated from Monmouth High School and Purdue University-Fort Wayne. He worked at G.E. in Decatur, Johns-Mansville (IAC) in Bluffton, and CTS in Berne.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Brown of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Deborah (Terri Goins) Brown of Fort Wayne, Indiana; son, Jeremy W. (Julie-Marie) Brown of Decatur, Indiana; son, Sean (Tiffany)Brown of Berne, Indiana; sister, Sondra (Al) Lehman of Monroe, Indiana; brother, Michael (Becky) Brown of Decatur, Indiana; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Geneva (Bennet) Brown and his in-laws, Wilfred and Johanna Rafert Buuck.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur with Pastor Zachary Oedewaldt officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Church, Friedheim in Decatur, Indiana.

Family and friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.

Preferred memorials are to Zion Lutheran School, Concordia Theological Seminary Fort Wayne, Worship Anew or Donor’s Choice.
