Diane K. Dietrich, 72, of Hoagland, Indiana passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021 at her residence following a two-year battle with cancer.
She was born on July 27, 1949, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Wilmer Rohrbach and the late Julia (Seddlemeyer) Rohrbach. Diane was united in marriage to Thomas A. Dietrich on August 21, 1971, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest and he survives.
She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest where she served on the Altar Guild.
Diane graduated from Hoagland High School in 1967, she graduated from Lutheran School of Nursing with a LPN degree. Diane was employed by Lutheran Hospital until the birth of her first child. As a young mother, she babysat children in her home. She then worked many years for Dr. Dean Dauscher and finally at the Kelly House in Fort Wayne, Indiana prior to her full retirement.
She loved her family (husband, siblings, children and grandchildren) and they were her life. Diane loved her flower garden beds, knitting, crocheting, decorating, shopping, attending sporting events in the family, and her Golden Retriever, Londy. She was fortunate enough to travel the world with her husband and friends. A very loving person, she adored her friends and cherished the times and memories they shared.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Thomas Dietrich of Hoagland, Indiana; son, Brent (Carrie) Dietrich of Timnath, Colorado; two daughters, Shelby (Garrison) Kenner of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Leah (Chad) Beaty of Leo, Indiana; twin brother, Doane (Vilma) Rohrbach of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; sister, Cynthia Reynolds of New Haven, Indiana; brother, Larry (Linda) Rohrbach of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; sister, Nancy (Mike) Meadows of New Haven, Indiana; sister, Shirley (Allen) Scott of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; Tom’s siblings, brother, Robert (Jeanne) Dietrich of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; sister, Judy (Dave) Harkless of Ossian, Indiana; and 11 grandchildren, Ava Beaty, Grayson Kenner, Emily Dietrich, Rachel Dietrich, Dulce Kenner, Bryce Beaty, London Kenner, Micah Dietrich, Dietrich Kenner, Blake Beaty, and Levi Dietrich.
She was preceded in death by sister-in-law, Janet Rohrbach.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest with Pastor Josef Henning officiating. Burial will follow in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Soest
Friends and family will be received on Friday, November 26, 2021, from 2-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home – Decatur and one-hour prior on Saturday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the church.
Preferred memorials can be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest and / or Lutheran World Relief.
