Denise June (Johnson) Davis, 59, of Decatur, Indiana went to her heavenly home on Saturday, June 27, 2020. She passed away peacefully at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana following an extended illness.
Denise was born on July 24, 1960 at Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur, Indiana to William (Bill) and Rose (Thatcher) Johnson. She was the fifth of their six children. Even though she may have been a quiet person, she never hesitated to make those around her smile and laugh. Growing up, when you saw Denise, you most likely saw her twin brother Duane too. They spent much of their time together and had many friends in common.
Denise was baptized, confirmed, and later married at Immanuel Lutheran Church. She married Linza Joseph (Joe) Davis on June 5, 1987.
Denise graduated from Adams Central High School. She then went on to work at Kelley’s Dry Cleaners, Johnson’s Auto Sales, Wayne Novelty (where she met Joe), and finished her career at Richard’s Restaurant where was a waitress for many years.
Denise’s lifelong enjoyment was spending time with family, immediate and extended.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Davis; children: Eric Duane Davis and Marah Jo Davis of Decatur, IN; step-children: Linza Joseph (Angie) Davis II of McCordsville, IN; Amanda Durflinger of Decatur, IN; grandchildren: Madeline Davis, Kendall Ohler; step-grandchildren: Kylee, Avery, Loghan, Jor’Jianna, Zane, and Abbigail; siblings: Pamela (Ronald) Greenwood of Paso Robles, CA; Robert (Connie) Johnson of Convoy, OH; Dennis (Patricia) Johnson of Decatur, IN; Duane (Devone) Johnson of Monroe, IN; Mark Johnson of Angola, IN; and Kristi (Jeremy) Kershner of Bluffton, IN. Denise was loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
