DeLoan B. Witte, 93, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Adams Memorial Hospital.
She was born on May 2, 1931, in Monroeville, Indiana to the late Orville L. Lenington and Grace D. (Dinger) Lenington.
DeLoan was united in marriage to the late Norval A. Witte on October 21, 1950, in New Haven, Indiana.
She worked part-time at Sears in Countryside, Clearwater, Florida, HWI for 12 years, and Western Auto for 19 years. She retired from all three positions. In 1950, she began making sequined calendars that became a lifelong hobby.
She is survived by her sister, Charlene Rowland of Decatur, Indiana; four nephews, Dave Witte, Bill Beery, Kurt Lenington, and Darrin Rowland; special friends, Shelly Witte, Darlene Blair, and her caregiver Judy Agler; and her beloved pet cat Punkin.
Along with her spouse and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Lowell “Buzz” Lenington; three brothers-in-law, Jack Beery, Donald Witte, and Lee Witte; four sisters-in-law, Helen Witte, Norma Witte, June Lenington, and Eileen Beery; three nephews, Gary Witte, Ned Witte, and Steve Witte; and niece, Cara Lenington.
There will be a private family gathering at Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with burial to follow at Monroeville Cemetery.
