Debbie Sue Brunner, 58, of Decatur, Indiana passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at her residence, following a battle with cancer.

She was born on August 24, 1961 in Marquette, Michigan to the late Bud Hart and Fern (Hunter) McAllister-Riemke. She was adopted in childhood by Lee McAllister, who also preceded her in death.

She was united in marriage to Theodore “Ted” Brunner on March 15, 1997, in Pleasant Mills, Indiana at the Pleasant Mills Baptist Church and he preceded her in death on November 21, 2019.

Debbie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur. She was also a member of the Eagles Aerie # 2653.

Deb was employed at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne as an RN in PACU. She previously worked at River Terrace in Bluffton and Swiss Village in Berne for many years.

Deb loved her husband Ted, family and grandkids very much. She was an amazing grandma! She and Ted enjoyed spending their weekends at Story Lake with family and friends as they watched their families grow up. Deb loved visiting Chicago and walking along the beaches of Lake Michigan. She had an insatiable thirst for bargain shopping. Deb held a ridiculous schedule for her grandkids’ sporting events. She was very generous with her time in helping others. Her nieces and nephews held a very special place in her heart. Deb was creative in crafts, sewing and baking, she enjoyed trying new recipes.

Survivors include three daughters, Sasha Harrison of Decatur, Indiana, Jena Hirschy of Chicago, Illinois, and Tara (Patrick Hamilton) Brunner of Decatur, Indiana; son, Clay Scott of Decatur, Indiana; mother, Fern Riemke of Decatur, Indiana; two brothers, Terry (Linda) McAllister of Decatur, Indiana and Randy (Paula) McAllister of Texas; two sisters, Julie (Don) Adkison and Kim (Rich) Weiland II both of Decatur, Indiana; Ted’s parents, Larry & Mary Lou Brunner of Decatur, Indiana; Ted’s two brothers, Larry (Kaylehn) Brunner Jr. of Decatur, Indiana and Chad (Jodi) Brunner of Monroe, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Nic & Parker Harrison, Bryson & Jordyn Hamilton, Carson & Addy Scott, and Abe Hirschy; several nieces and nephews; and her dog, Sissy.

Deb was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Brunner; step-father, James Riemke; and her beloved cat, Blackie.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur with Pastor James Voorman officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery.

Friends and family will be received from 12 noon -3:00 p.m. and 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 16, 2020 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.

Preferred memorials can be given to Adams County Cancer Coalition.
