Dawn M. Witt

Dawn M. Witt, 57, of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at her residence.

She was born on October 23, 1966 in Algona, Iowa to the late Delbert and Mary (Fuoss) Harrison.
Dawn was an honorably discharged member of the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Sergeant.

She was united in marriage to Rev. David L. Witt on June 12, 2002 at Eternal Trinity Lutheran Church in Milton, FL and he survives.

Dawn was a member at St. Paul Lutheran Church – Preble.  She was a 1985 graduate of Ft. Dodge Sr. High School.  She also graduated from Southwest Texas Junior College.

Dawn was a homemaker.  Following her marriage to David, she was employed in management for 20 years.  While in Mobile, Alabama with her husband, she was employed doing data entry at Thomas Hospital.

Dawn liked to sew and write letters to her friends and family.  She loved her flowers and tending her flower gardens.  She enjoyed canning fruits and vegetables.  Dawn loved her Golden Retrievers and her pet rabbit, Banjo.  But the most important thing to Dawn was her faith is Jesus Christ, her Savior.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. David L. Witt of Decatur, Indiana; son, Thomas J. DeLuca III of Brooklyn, New York; and sister, Denise Harrison of Badger, Iowa.

Dawn was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ronald Harrison and Raymond Harrison; and her son, Jacob Landon Witt in infancy.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 23, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church – Preble, with Pastor Andrew Yeager officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service on Monday, September 23, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church – Preble.

Military graveside honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #43 Color Guard

Preferred memorials can be given to Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, - Kramer Chapel.
