David Allen Lee

April 5, 1969 — August 13, 2021

David Allen Lee, 52, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on August 13, 2021 at Lutheran Hospital.  His death followed an accident suffered 18 days earlier when the bicycle he was riding was struck by an automobile.

He was born April 5, 1969 to the late William Allen Lee and Jane (Bowser) Pritchard who survives.  Dave was united in marriage to Cassie Jasen on December 23, 1995 in Wabash, Indiana (she survives).

Dave was a member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Ft. Wayne.

Dave graduated from Parkersburg High School in Parkersburg, WV.  He then attended and graduated from Indiana University School of Business in Bloomington, receiving a degree in Finance.  Shortly following his graduation, he also graduated from Wake Forest University with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.

Dave was employed by Pyrotek in Columbia City as the US Foundry Division Manager for over 15 years.  Prior to accepting this position, he had worked as Corporate Operations Manager for B. Walter and Co. in Wabash, was the Corporate Business Development Consultant for Duke Energy, and also a Senior Auditor for Northern Trust.

Dave was a great friend to many people.  He was an avid road biker, Indy Car, and Formula 1 Racing fan.  He loved anything and everything IU Hoosiers…football, basketball, Bobby Knight; Cincinnati Reds, and the Indianapolis Colts.  A consummate reader, he continually sought to learn from others, especially in history.  He enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends.  He was a very involved father, attending all activities of his children and when able participated as a “coach”.

If you ask any of his friends to describe Dave, it would be FUN!  There wasn’t a theme too good for Dave.  A thespian (actor) at heart, he would show up to parties in-character with Cassie… embracing any theme.  He always took time for others.  He was passionate about music and wine. Going hand-in-hand with this was also food.  He loved combining food, wine, music, and friends…which often led to FUN!  He was the master DJ…known for making playlists for various parties and gatherings and he was also fondly known for his “dancing” skills.

Loyalty was an important characteristic for Dave.  He showed this in his family life, friendships, and employment.  It was his loyalty to family and desire to grow his faith that led he and Cassie to convert to Catholicism in their middle years.  They joined the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church where they immersed themselves in the parish and school.  Dave sought to exemplify the role as a humble servant, seeking ways to work in the background to support the faith in others’ lives.

Survivors include his wife, Cassie (Jasen) Lee, Ft. Wayne, IN; daughter, Mackenzie Lee at home, daughter, Delaney Lee at home, son, Alex Lee at home, mother and step-father, Jane (Les) Pritchard, Vienna WV; aunt, Sally (Phil) Craig, Fenwick Island, DE; aunt, Sue (Ted Hansen) Bowser, Virginia Beach, VA.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Lee.
