Darla J. Rhymer

Darla Rhymer, 61, of Monroeville, Ind. passed away Friday morning, April 12, 2024 at her residence.

Darla was born May 28, 1962 in Fort Wayne, Ind. to the late Keith Stephenson and the late Phyllis (Hook) Stephenson.

She was united in marriage to Bruce Rhymer on July 28, 1984 at Monroeville Church of the Nazarene, and he survives.

Darla was a 1981 graduate of Heritage High School. She was a homemaker and helped her husband with his business, Bruce’s Wildlife Control.

The joy of Darla’s life was spending time with her kids and grandkids. She loved being outdoors, and she loved her dogs, Willow, Sammie and Rocko.

Darla is lovingly survived by her husband, Bruce Rhymer of Monroeville; son, Adam (Ashley) Stephenson of Monroeville; daughter, Crystal (Justin) Spaulding of Monroeville; son, Brandon Rhymer of Monroeville; five grandchildren, Kelsey Spaulding, Kinsley Spaulding, Abel Spaulding, Sydney Stephenson, and Larry Stephenson, all of Monroeville; five brothers, Jim Stephenson    of Monroeville, John Stephenson of Fort Wayne, Terry (Eydie) Stephenson of Monroeville, Hider (Michelle) Stephenson of Monroeville and Darrell (Tina) Stephenson of Monroeville; and three sisters, Arlene (Lloyd) Leininger of Monroeville, Bobbie (Wayne) Meyer of Monroeville, and Karen (Emory) Colwell of Columbia City, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Keith and Phyllis Stephenson.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville with Pastor Ralph Klinker officiating. Burial will follow at Monroeville Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 17 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Preferred memorials are to the family (checks payable to Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home).
