Daniel W. Schwartz

Daniel W. Schwartz, 84, of Monroe, Indiana passed away at 1:10 p.m. Monday, August 26, 2024, at his residence.

He was born October 5, 1939, to the late Joe L. and Elizabeth D. (Wickey) Schwartz. Daniel married Lovina S. Girod on January 1, 1959, and she survives.

He was a retired farmer and a member of the Old Order Amish.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lovina S. Schwartz of Monroe, Indiana; their children, four sons, and four daughters: Emma L.D. (Joe B.) Schwartz & Elizabeth L.D. (Joe E.S.) Schwartz both of Monroe, Indiana; Esther L.D. (Joseph) Eicher of Berne, Indiana; Lovina L.D. (Menno B.) Schwartz of Decatur, Indiana; Joe L.D. (Liz) Schwartz & Sam L.D. (Christine) Schwartz both of Decatur, Indiana; Daniel L.D. (Elizabeth) Schwartz & Jerry L.D. (Amy) Schwartz both of Monroe, Indiana; 85 grandchildren; and 175 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three grandsons and one granddaughter.

A funeral service will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the Daniel L.D. Schwartz Residence, 1341 South U.S. Hwy 27 Monroe, Indiana, with Bishop Joe L.D. Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow at Schwartz Cemetery in Berne, Indiana.

Visitation will be held at the Daniel L.D. Schwartz Residence from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2024, and from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
