Dale E. “Hippie” Martin, 59, of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at his residence, his death was unexpected.
He was born on August 22, 1959 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Leo and Donna (Feasby) Martin.
Dale was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church, Monroeville.
He was employed by Alconex in Ft. Wayne until his health prevented him from continuing. Prior to Alconex, he had worked at REV (Fleetwood) in Decatur, International Harvester, and Phelps Dodge.
Dale enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles, especially his black one. He also liked IU Basketball, Dallas Cowboys and Indianapolis Colts football.
He is survived by a daughter, Grace Strahm of Fort Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Emily H. G. Martin of Ohio; parents, Leo and Donna Martin of Monroeville; sister, Patty (Kevin) Ryan of Columbia City, Indiana; sister Karen (Larry) Baumert of Monroeville; feline friend, Harley; and grandchildren.
A 9:30 a.m. Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose Catholic Church, Monroeville. Father Lourdino Fernandes will be officiating and burial will follow in St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Monroeville.
Family and friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville. The reciting of the Holy Rosary will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials can be made to Masses or St. Rose Catholic School.
