Dale E. Anderson

Dale E. Anderson, 90 of Monroeville, Indiana passed away early Tuesday morning, January 28, 2025, at Adams Heritage in Monroeville.

He was born on October 26, 1934 in Payne, Ohio to Robert and Hilda (Roemer) Anderson. Dale was united in marriage to Marjorie Gerardot on May 7, 1955, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Besancon and she preceded him in death on November 21, 2024.

Dale was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville.

He graduated from Hoagland High School in 1953 and then went to work for Phelps Dodge as an electrician. He was also a lifetime farmer.

Dale loved being a farmer and enjoyed any activity that meant he could be outside.

He is survived by his son, Paul (Peggy) Anderson of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Mary Houser of Decatur, Indiana; son, Leroy (Sally) Anderson of Payne, Ohio; son, David (Tina) Anderson of Fort Wayne, Indiana; daughter, Joan (James) Simpson of Fort Wayne, Indiana; son, Kevin (Lori) Anderson of Decatur, Indiana; daughter, Susan (Mark) McKinnon of Fort Wayne, Indiana; son, Mark (Heather) Anderson of Monroeville, Indiana; 16 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Dale was preceded in death by his grandson, Tyler Anderson, and his brother, Donald Anderson.

A family prayer service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2025, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2025, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville, Indiana with Father Dennis Di Benedetto officiating. Burial will follow at St. Rose Catholic Cemetery in Monroeville.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 7:45 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel followed by the Reciting of the Holy Rosary at 7:45 p.m. The family will also receive friends from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. preceding the 10:00 a.m. Prayer Service at the funeral home on Friday. 

Preferred memorials are to Masses or St. Rose Catholic School.
