Cordell Cole Cornett

Cordell Cole Cornett, 23, of Decatur, Indiana passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He was born September 23, 1998, in Decatur, Indiana, to Ramey D. Cornett Sr. and Tamie L. (Springer) Cornett.

Cordell was employed at HWY 27 Landscape Supply in Decatur, Indiana. He graduated High School in 2016.

He will live on by providing others with the gift of life being an organ donor.

Cordell had a love for fishing and riding 4-wheelers. He was very athletic and was a talented baseball player. Cordell had a strong passion for everything that he did. He was a dedicated uncle and loved his family and friends.

Survivors include his father, Ramey (Tonya) Cornett of Decatur, Indiana; mother, Tamie (Mike Sprunger) Cornett of Berne, Indiana; sister, Tesa (Jared Franklin) Cornett of Decatur, Indiana; brother, Ramey Cornett Jr. of Chicago, Illinois; step-siblings, Nicole, Adam, Colby, Reece, and Bryce; fiancé,       Allison Mendez of Decatur, Indiana; paternal grandmother, Janet (Thomas) Harding of Winchester, Tennessee; maternal grandfather, Robert Springer of Larwill, Indiana; uncles, Bobby, Billy and Danny; aunts, Robin, Donna, Sandy, Callie, Emily, Jennie and Vera; nieces and nephews, Bentley, Gracie, Remington, Carson, and Hailey.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Harold Cornett and maternal grandmother, Frieda “Lulu” Springer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor Dan York officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery.

Friends and family will be received from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur.
