Clyde Don Wulliman, 79, of Berne, Indiana passed away Saturday morning, March 4, 2023, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on Sunday, November 14, 1943, in Berne, Indiana to the late Fred Curtis Wulliman and the late Gertrude M. (Sprunger) Wulliman. Clyde was united in marriage to Marjorie Jean Lehman on February 27, 1971, at First Mennonite Church in Berne, Indiana celebrating 52 years together.
Clyde honorably served his country in the Air National Guard for 20 years.
He was a faithful member of First Mennonite Church in Berne and sang in the Chancel Choir. Prior to moving back to Berne, Clyde was an active member of Tillman Road Church of God in Fort Wayne, Indiana for 40 years.
In Clyde’s younger years, he engaged in farming for several years. For the majority of his working career, he was a talented self-employed upholsterer. Throughout his lifetime both Clyde and Marge were licensed real estate agents together enjoying investing in real estate and various other ventures.
Over the years, Clyde and Marge enjoyed traveling. Clyde found enjoyment in searching and looking at antiques as well as collecting coins and stamps. In his spare time, he found joy in playing pool and card games valuing the social aspect of the group. Above all, faith and family was the central part of Clyde’s life. Throughout the years, Clyde made a positive impact as a mentor and father figure to numerous children.
Clyde is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marjorie J. Wulliman of Berne, Indiana; son, Wade A. (Kelly) Wulliman of Murphy, Texas; son, S. Clay (Annie) Wulliman of Coldwater, Michigan; brother, Curtis Van (Sharon) Wulliman of Berne, Indiana; brother, Roscoe Wulliman of Berne, Indiana; sister, Roberta Pauline Bertsch of Valparaiso, Indiana; sister, Joyce Wilkins of Berne, Indiana; sister, Grace (Ron) Claghorn of Berne, Indiana; sister, Gyneth (Mike) Sutton of Berne, Indiana; and four grandchildren, Anika Jean (Jake) Payne, Enya Joy Wulliman, Ethan Clay Wulliman, and Abbie Elizabeth Thatcher.
He was preceded in death by two sisters-in-law, Lois Wulliman, and Connie Wulliman; and brother-in-law, Tom Wilkins.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 9, 2023, at First Mennonite Church in Berne, Indiana with Pastor Jeff Linthicum and Pastor Jim Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow at M.R.E. Cemetery of rural Berne.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Yager-Kirchhofer Chapel in Berne, Indiana, and also one hour prior to the service at the church.
Preferred memorials can be given to First Mennonite Church – Youth Group or First Mennonite Church – Missions.
